The role of a Tickets Sales Officer is crucial as it involves managing ticket sales and reservations for various travel services such as flights, trains, buses, and cruises. The primary responsibility of a Ticket Sales Officer is to assist customers in booking tickets, providing travel information, resolving any queries or issues, and ensuring smooth transactions.

Job Description:

1. Ticket Sales: Sell tickets for various travel services to customers using both online and offline booking systems.

2. Reservations: Manage reservations and book tickets based on customers' preferences, dates, and destinations.

3. Customer Assistance: Provide personalized assistance to customers by assisting them with travel plans, itineraries, and suggesting suitable options.

4. Travel Information: Have a sound understanding of travel routes, fares, schedules, and destination information to provide accurate and updated information to customers.

5. Upgrades and Modifications: Assist customers with ticket modifications, upgrades, cancellations, and re-issuance as per the travel agency's policies.

6. Payment Processing: Accept and process payments for ticket sales, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the agency's financial procedures.

7. Conflict Resolution: Handle customer complaints, concerns, and issues professionally, aiming for customer satisfaction and resolving conflicts in a timely manner.

8. Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments within the travel agency, such as customer service, finance, and operations to ensure seamless ticketing processes.

Requirements:

1. Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with more than one-year work experience is required.

2. Industry Knowledge: Good knowledge of the travel industry, including airlines, routes, fares, travel regulations, and visa requirements.

3. Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using computer systems, online booking platforms, and reservation software to process ticket sales and manage customer data.

4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers effectively and provide accurate information.

5. Customer Service: Prior experience in customer service or a similar role, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and resolving customer issues.

6. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple reservations, handle payments, and maintain accurate records.

7. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate ticketing, billing, and resolving any discrepancies.

8. Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently, especially in situations where last-minute changes or disruptions may occur.

9. Language Skills: Proficiency in English, and local languages are required.
