Overview
As an educational counselor specializing in Study Abroad within Jahan Sky Educational Consultancy & Travel Agency, your role would involve providing comprehensive guidance and support to students interested in pursuing international education opportunities in Europe, Asia, and American countries.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Advising and guiding students: You will be responsible for assisting students in understanding their study abroad options, conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, and helping them make informed decisions regarding programs, courses, and universities based on their academic goals and preferences.
2. Application assistance: You will guide students through the entire application process, including helping them with documentation, creating compelling personal statements, and ensuring that all application requirements are met within the specified deadlines.
3. Educational program research: Keeping up-to-date with the latest information on universities, programs, scholarships, admission requirements, and student visa regulations is crucial. You will research and stay informed about the educational systems and offerings in different countries to provide accurate and relevant information to students.
4. Financial guidance: Assisting students in understanding the costs associated with studying abroad, discussing available scholarships, funding options, and helping them with budgeting to make their study abroad dreams financially viable.
5. Cultural awareness and pre-departure support: Offering guidance on overcoming cultural barriers, preparing students for the cultural differences they may encounter abroad, and providing support for aspects such as accommodation, travel, and ensuring compliance with the necessary paperwork and visa processes.
6. Relationship building: Establishing and maintaining relationships with universities, colleges, and foreign educational institutions, as well as networking with relevant organizations and professionals involved in the field of international education.
Requirements for this position typically include:
1. Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, business administration, education, counseling, international relations, or a related field is commonly preferred. Relevant certifications or specialized training in study abroad counseling can also be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of study abroad systems: Familiarity with various study abroad systems, including knowledge of different countries such as (Europe, Asia and American countries), education systems, admission processes, and scholarship opportunities, is essential for providing accurate guidance and advice to students.
3. Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with students, parents, and educational institutions. This includes active listening, effective presentation skills, and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
4. Intercultural competence: A deep understanding and appreciation for different cultures, as well as experience or exposure to diverse cultural backgrounds, will help you better guide students in navigating cultural challenges and embracing international experiences.
5. Organizational and multitasking abilities: A highly organized approach to managing multiple students' applications, deadlines, and paperwork is crucial to ensure a smooth process and timely submissions.

7. Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using computer (Windows, Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet using, Emailing)
